Land Use, Environmental, Zoning & Municipal Law
BLS attorneys have longstanding relationships and experience with all stakeholders in the approval process…
including the many technical specialists, as well as local and state governmental agencies. BLS attorneys represent private clients, as well as town and village planning and zoning boards, in zoning, environmental and land use matters. We have successfully processed applications and received desired approvals, avoiding the need for lengthy and costly litigation.
BLS attorneys are skilled at securing all local and state approvals needed by commercial and residential developers. We understand the development process and work with municipal boards and their teams of attorneys, engineers, architects and surveyors. We appear before municipal boards and state agencies to advocate for our clients during each phase of the process.
Our expertise includes due diligence of the property, coordination with technical specialists, SEQRA, conceptual planning, and project financing – all of which can ultimately lead to approved site plans, special use permits, subdivision and variance approvals. If needed, we can also seek zoning changes to permit a project to proceed when the present zoning is insufficient for that purpose.
BLS has worked with developers, municipalities and individuals on projects seeking approvals for:
- Site Plans
- Special Use Permits
- Hotels and Resorts
- Residential and Commercial Development
